- 1. The tech doesn't know what he's talking about (What's new?).

- 2. I assume you've got a 33.6k modem. The ability to connect at rates higher
- than 28.8 requires compatible 33.6 modems on both ends, AND requires an
- exceptionally good quality phone line. You are lucky if you're getting
- consistent connections at 28.8.
